The athletic director is working on sponsors for the the program and I have been working closely with him in this area for the last couple of days. The department is working on establishing a relationship with other businesses in town and are working on preparing a contracts to present to the companies. I was responsible for doing some research to find some examples of corporate sponsorship examples to aid in the process of preparing a contract. After compiling some research we discussed what needed to be done further. Additionally, I learned parts of the hiring process in athletics for different positions in the department and the resources that the athletic director uses to create a contract for the coach or other employee that features a fair and competitive salary and will benefit both parties. We met with members from the dragon radio station to discuss potential sponsors and promotions. Today I also completed my 200 hours of the mentorship, but will continue working and interning with the department to gain more experience while finishing my degree and looking for new employment.

This week is spring break, which means there is little happening on campus. With our winter sports seasons finished and many of the spring sports teams competing on the road I was invited to work with the athletic director and attend meetings with some of the sponsors that play a major role in Tiffin University Athletics and also are a big part of the annual fundraising event for the department the golf outing. I learned a lot about working with sponsors and building relationships with sponsors to establish long term relationships that will benefit both the university and local businesses. Fundraising is extremely important in allowing students at the university to compete in intercollegiate athletics and provide the necessary facilities and equipment to excel at a high level. This was great experience for me to learn the athletic director's role in working with corporate sponsors and fundraising for the university. I also attended a meeting with the athletic director, a construction company, a member of facilities, and the Esports coach to discuss the needs when constructing the building for the Esports program on campus. It will be a gaming arena with state of the art equipment to attract the best talent in the gaming industry. Discussed were the plans and what was need prior to breaking ground on the new building.
