The university hosted a concert event for elementary school students to encourage recycling. When got to work I didn't expect what I would be doing that day. First I met with the athletic director and he said we need to find Blaze which is the schools mascot for this event. The costume was found and we went to make sure the costume was there for the event. The person that was supposed to be Blaze the dragon did not show up. This was a perfect job for the intern, so for the event I was Blaze and met the children as they came off the bus and then interacted with the kids and danced during the first part of the concert. An athletic meeting was held with all the coaches and department personnel to discuss responsibility for inauguration and other related issues. I was given another project from the athletic director to work on which is to help get the application prepared and submitted to get a vending license so athletic teams can sell concessions in the Heminger Center during events. I got a tour of where all the old athletic facilities used to be in town and the campus and department have seen tremendous growth and improvement.
